The village board Thursday night heard a presentation from McHenry County Division of Transportation officials about the county's MCRide Dial-a-Ride Transit Service program. It would cost Huntley $48,500 yearly to participate and would allow residents to commute within Huntley and Kane County.

The village board Thursday night is expected to approve an agreement with Route 47 Taxi Transportation for $10,000 to provide discounted rides for senior and disabled residents of Rutland and Hampshire townships.

Huntley offering temporary rides to Sun City seniorsNov 27, 2013 5:07 PM - Huntley has inked a deal with a local cab company to temporarily offer rides to seniors living in both Rutland and Hampshire townships. In doing so, those accustomed to riding Grafton Township's buses won't see a break in service -- Grafton leaders terminated the bus rides effective Friday and the cab service starts the following day.

As a result, Grafton Township, which had been driving the senior and disabled residents living in Rutland's portion of Sun City at no cost to Rutland, will pull the plug on service to Rutland after Nov. 30.
