Separate snowmobile accidents send 2 men to hospitalMar 10, 2015 6:09 AM - Fox Lake Fire Protection District officials say two men were taken to a hospital for treatment for injuries suffered in separate weekend snowmobile mishaps. Batallion Chief Ed Lescher said crews responded to the four calls involving snowmobiles on the Chain O' Lakes from 8 p.m. Friday until about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Autopsy scheduled on 9-year-old who drowned in Fox LakeAug 28, 2013 1:49 PM - McHenry County coroner officials say an autopsy is scheduled for today on the 9-year-old Round Lake girl who drowned while swimming Tuesday evening in Fox Lake. Officials have not yet released the identity of the girl. McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said the girl was wading in water with family and friends but went under the surface after walking farther out from the shore.

Fox Lake dedicates firefighter memorialMay 19, 2013 6:37 PM - Fox Lake celebrated its history of volunteer firefighters with a new memorial dedicated at the department's original fire station Sunday afternoon. More than 100 community members came to recognize 105-year history of the Fox Lake Fire Protection District and honor the memory of 68 former firefighters and volunteers who have passed away with two statues unveiled Sunday.

Firefighters were called at 1:44 a.m. to battle the blaze at Furniture Doctor, 34 E. Grand Ave. No one was injured and officials are trying to determine the amount of damage.

Emergency crews responded to the report of a fire at 11 a.m. on the 0-100 block of South Maple Avenue, according to the Fox Lake Fire Protection District.
