Dec 4, 2014 8:01 AM - In an effort to help with Batavia's toy drive, Mike Hoag, an amateur photographer, has offered a Riverwalk photo that is creating quite a stir on social media. For a $20 donation to the toy drive, he will send the donor a JPEG file of the Riverwalk photo for printing at home.

Especially since the district doesn't expire until 2027. "I did find the letter from the mayor to be a bit vague," school board member Melanie Impastato said. Aurora man killed in Batavia Twp. crashOct 25, 2013 5:17 PM - An Aurora man has died after his car struck a tree Friday morning in Batavia Township, authorities said. Christopher Saumell, 27, was pronounced dead at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora following the single-vehicle crash at about 8:15 a.m. on Deerpath Road south of Mooseheart Road, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff: Batavia man was on roof with rifle when shotJul 10, 2013 5:46 AM - Authorities weren't saying much a day after a Kane County Sheriff's Department sergeant shot and killed a 52-year-old Batavia Township man who they say pointed a rifle at deputies while on the roof of his home. Kane County Sheriff's Department Lt. Pat Gengler said deputies responded late Monday morning to call about a suicidal subject and found Luke Bulzak on the roof. "It gave him a vantage point of several houses, backyards and residents," Gengler said.
