Lake County offers snowmobile safety classDec 28, 2015 3:18 PM - The Lake County Forest Preserve District is offering a snowmobile safety class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the district's operations and public safety facility, 19808 West Grand Ave., Lake Villa. Passing the written exam at the end of the class allows kids between the ages of 12 and 16 to operate a snowmobile on their own. But older teens and adults can take the class, too. Participation is free.

Gary Greenberg grateful for life-saving help after heart attack at Bannockburn athletic clubNov 1, 2012 6:35 PM - Several people were honored Thursday for acting quickly to help save the life of 58-year-old Gary Greenberg of Highland Park, who suffered a massive heart attack a few weeks ago while working out at the Midtown Athletic Club in Bannockburn. Athletic trainer Rich Rossi of Buffalo Grove and others that day worked to help Greenberg survive. "I can't thank you guys enough," an understandably appreciative Greenberg said.
