Free tree saplings for Arbor Day in Hawthorn WoodsMay 5, 2023 2:19 PM - Hawthorn Woods' sustainability committee is hosting its annual free tree sapling distribution drive-through event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center, 94 Midlothian Road. Information about proper tree planting techniques and ongoing care will be available. All tree saplings are free to area residents. Pollinator seed packets also will be distributed at no cost while supplies last. Available saplings are: American plum, red oak, sycamore, silky dogwood, bald cypress, and white pine.
