The Glenbard Bilingual Parent Advisory Council and Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families will present a parent academy to help students achieve in school and life with educational consultant Lourdes Ferrer-Allen at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, via Zoom.

This workshop will provide Spanish-speaking families with the knowledge and skills to become self-advocates and role models to help students achieve. Ferrer-Allen will discuss resources for academic success, how to increase students' college readiness and the skills necessary for today's careers.
Ferrer-Allen is an award-winning Hispanic parental involvement specialist. She is the author of "Hispanic Parental Involvement" and "The Ten Competencies to Drive Your Children to Academic Success." She also co-authored "Voices: African American and Hispanic Students' Perceptions Regarding the Academic Achievement Gap."
