Officer Collin Klein and Detective Mary Kosartes from the Streamwood Police Department, along with their K-9's Scout and Hope, were among several participating K-9 units from other law enforcement agencies across the suburbs to gather on the grounds of the Streamwood Park District's Ian's Farm property, 360 W. Schaumburg Road, for K-9 training on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

The purpose of the training was for Police K-9 maintenance, which includes obedience, drug work, building searches, article searches, and tracking. The training was led by TOPS Kennels of Grayslake.

Additional K-9 units from Elgin, Hanover Park and Skokie were also in attendance.

The park district worked with the Streamwood Police Department to coordinate the K-9 training on the 11-acre property, which will eventually be redeveloped for a new parks maintenance facility and administrative office.

"We were proud to collaborate with the Streamwood Police Department and these police agencies to make this training possible," said Streamwood Park District Executive Director Jeff Janda.
