D211 community invited to complete survey

Township High School District 211 is seeking community feedback as it launches a new strategic planning process meant to guide the state's largest high school system into a successful future.

A brief survey covering everything from academics and wellness to equity, operations, finance and communications is available for completion online at www.d211.org.

 

The survey is available in both English and Spanish and is open through Friday, Dec. 17.

All community members are encouraged to complete the survey to maximize the voices heard as the district begins the planning process. Those with young children who will someday be in the district, taxpayers without children in schools, current parents, business leaders, employees and others all provide significant information vital to strengthening the District 211 learning community.

"We hope to hear from individuals across our community and get their honest opinion of where they believe we are and where they believe we can grow," Superintendent Dr. Lisa Small said.

"This process works best when we work collaboratively, collecting as many opinions as possible, and then using that information to collectively shape the direction of our schools."

The community will also have the opportunity to provide feedback through focus groups. More information on those dates and times will be provided once it is finalized.

The planning process will be overseen by a 35-member Steering Committee comprising staff, parents, students, community members and board of education liaisons.

"Our goal is to produce the best possible blueprint for the continued long-term success of the district," said Jason Stricker of Insight Education Group, a strategic planning company that has completed plans nationwide and was hired by the board of education to lead the process.

The steering committee will meet monthly through May, analyzing survey results and serving as ambassadors for continued community stakeholder engagement and feedback.
