Meet some of the rescues at the second annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Casey's Safe Haven, 8N005 Route 47 in Maple Park. The 501(c)3 non-profit holistic equine rescue is dedicated to healing horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules in need.

They are opening their doors to a limited number of guests while taking precautions to keep everyone all safe. Buy tickets early at https://caseyssafehaven.org/shop as each group is limited to 50 people. Tickets for 1:30 p.m. are sold out but times are still available between 10 a.m. and noon.

Tour the barn and meet the rescues, including Petunia the donkey.

There will be raffle items, sandwiches, refreshments. They are raffling off a week vacation up in Door County at a supporter's home. You can buy your Door County Raffle tickets now (need not be present to win).

Casey's Safe Haven will accept equines from animal control facilities, pony ride facilities, horses being retired from lesson programs, police force, and the race track. They also accept healthy animals donated by loving owners.
