Bears place Jackson on COVID list
The Bears announced Monday they've placed safety Eddie Jackson on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
It's unclear if Jackson had tested positive for the coronavirus or if a close contact of his had tested positive. Teams can place players on the reserve/COVID-19 list for either reason. Teams do not have to say if a player has contracted the virus.
If Jackson tested positive for the virus, that would likely mean he's out for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. If Jackson was a close contact, the NFL requires him to remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list for at least five days -- meaning he could potentially return by Sunday.
The 26-year-old Jackson has missed only two games in his four-year NFL career.
