The Lake County sheriff's office is seeking public help in identifying two men involved in an early morning carjacking Nov. 27 in Green Oaks.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a business on the 14500 block of West Rockland Road for an aggravated car hijacking about 6:10 a.m. that day, authorities said. A 42-year old man told deputies he had parked his car to begin his work shift when two men approached as he opened the door.

One of the carjackers struck the man in the head and face with a handgun, according to sheriff's police. One then drove off in the victim's 2019 Kia Forte in an unknown direction while the other fled in a second vehicle, authorities said.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The victim described the first man as being Black, with a lighter complexion, and weighing approximately 160 to 170 pounds. The second man was described as being Black, larger and with a darker complexion. Both carjackers are thought to be in their 20s.

Anyone with information about the carjacking should call sheriff's Detective Kyle McManaway at (847) 377-4306 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222. You also can submit a tip at www.lakecountycrimestoppers.com.
