Long Grove turkey trot set for Thursday, to benefit several local organizations

The Long Grove Turkey Trot run/walk will return live this year at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25.

The annual 5K/8K run/walk raises money for Northern Illinois Food Bank, Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association, Long Grove Community Emergency Response Team and the Lake County Sheriff Reserves.


The event starts in downtown Long Grove with several streets along the route. Volunteers and Lake County sheriff's deputies will be located along the course and at key intersections for traffic control.
