Brown secures Republican nomination in Kane County Board District 10 primary

Challenger David Brown earned the Republican nomination over incumbent Susan Starrett in the Kane County Board District 10 GOP primary, unofficial totals Tuesday night showed.

With all precincts reporting, Brown had secured 1,127 votes to Starrett's 872 votes.


Brown, 65, of Batavia, served 22 years as alderman of Batavia's 7th Ward. He works as an estimator/project manager for Builders Concrete Services and volunteers with Batavia Main Street, Batavia Streetscape committee, Access Toy Drive, and formerly for Flag Day Memorial.

Starrett, 47, of North Aurora, was elected to the District 10 seat in November 2012. She is an administrator at Starrett Medical Associates in Aurora and has been involved with Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame, CASA Child Advocacy, and is a co-head Deacon at First Presbyterian Church.
