Rosemont has a new five-year deal to keep its red-light cameras at five intersections in town.

The village board Wednesday extended its agreement with Lombard-based RedSpeed Illinois LLC under the same terms as the original contract inked in August 2007. The new deal contains the option for two additional three-year extensions.

Cameras are in operation at River Road and Higgins Road; River and Devon Avenue; River and Bryn Mawr Avenue; River and Balmoral Avenue; and Higgins and Mannheim Road. Together, they rake in more than $1 million annually for Rosemont coffers.
