Issue questions

What are the most important issues facing your park district and how do you intend to address them?

"Free to be me all inclusive playground" Having an all inclusive playground servicing special needs children, their siblings and friends all at the same place. A playground where children can develop and be themselves. I am very interested in seeing Villa Olivia develop it's full potential as a community asset.

If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.

I am an incumbent: I worked very hard for the open space we have. building the community pool and lazy river with a zip line. getting a state of the art community center, serving all age groups. I have worked to get the state of Illinois and DuPage County to have the Bartlett park district take over programing for Pate Phillips state park, instead of closing it down. Working to pass referendums, there by getting the support from the people of Bartlett to get these projects completed, along with the referendum to purchase Villa Olivia. I was also instrumental in starting the Bartlett Parks Foundation, scholarships, statues and art work for the parks, and raising money for "the free to be me playground", allowing the park district to upgrade without using tax payers money.

Which programs aren't paying for themselves? Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?

Programs are always being evaluated/restructured to meet the changing needs of the village. It is my on going responsibility as a commissioner.

Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.

Bartlett is not growing at the rate as it once did. I see a need for more neighbor parks as subdivisions are added, but our large amount of current open space is adequate.

Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them?

No, not at this time. The village has established tift districts over the years, which will increase our revenue starting in 2022, without increasing the tax rates.
