Buy a book: This is a great weekend to pick up some books to read at the beach or by the pool. The Friends of the Palatine Public Library will have its Summer Book Sale 6-9 p.m. Friday; 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 12:30-4 p.m. Sunday. The sale will include a selection of special items, such as art books, coffee table books, illustrated books, signed editions, special sets and antique books. The library's future: The Palatine Public Library District is asking residents to take a survey, to give opinions and help shape the library's future. Officials are evaluating the library's space and needs to see what, if any, renovation should be done at the Main Library. Stop by the library to complete the survey or take it online at www.palatinelibrary.org.
