Mount Prospect Fine Arts Festival coming
Don't miss the Mount Prospect's Fine Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 21 along Emerson Street and Busse Avenue. There is no entry fee for this juried exhibition.
About 40 artists will be showing off their works, including acrylics, watercolors and mixed medium paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery, graphics, glass and jewelry.
A children's tent will be available with an art activity for kids as well.

Air your views: You're invited to air your views about public transportation.
The workshop will be held at 7 p.m. June 23 at the Mount Prospect Public Library, 10 S. Emerson St.
The Regional Transportation Authority wants your views on the matter, so now is your chance. The RTA and Mount Prospect are working on a study to increase current services and are evaluating how well bike routes are used.

Be in a parade: The Prospect Heights Independence Day hometown parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on July 4.
You still have a chance to enter. Antique and classic cars, floats, decorated bicycles, walkers, big wheels and service organizations all are welcome, village officials said.
