North Suburban YMCA welcomes the Wayne Messmer Quartet on Sept. 16Aug 1, 2022 3:44 PM - The North Suburban YMCA will host a "Live on the Lawn" fundraiser featuring the Wayne Messmer Quartet from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 16. The evening of music and dancing includes pianist Bobby Schiff, bassist Scott Mason, trumpeter Dave Katz, and Messmer on vocals. As an iconic Chicago entertainer, Messmer is known for his musical and speaking engagements, and as one of the most recognizable singers of the national anthem. During his multi-decade career, Messmer has brought his powerful singing talents to the World Series, hockey and football games, concert stages, jazz clubs, and recording studios. The "Live on the Lawn" evening is coordinated by the NSYMCA's Pool Pals, a group of Y swimmers dedicated to supporting the Y and its community.
