Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce names its Great Taste Award winners

On Wednesday, Oct. 19, more than 300 guests sampled spirits and tastes from some of the finest purveyors in the Barrington Area at the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) TasteFest.

Winners of the Great Taste Awards were announced at the annual event, which was held at Wild Onion Brewery & Banquets, 22221 N. Pepper Road, Lake Barrington. The event, now in its 17th year, has become one of the most popular gourmet tasting events of the year.

During the event, guests were asked to vote on the Great Taste Awards, which were announced at the end of the evening. Winners included: Scratch Pastificio Company for Best Taste; The Hampton Social for Best Entree; Buffalo Creek Brewing for Best Spirit; and Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie for Best Dessert.

More than 20 local restaurant and spirit vendors participated, including: Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie, Brunch Café, Buffalo Creek Brewing, Ciao Baby!, Clarke's Bakery & Deli, DiBenedetto Trattoria, Garfield's Beverage Warehouse, Happy's Roots, McGonigal's Pub, Moretti's, Nothing Bundt Cakes, PRP Wine International, Remember Charlotte's Pizza, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Scratch Pastificio Co., Star Cinema Grill, Shark Bait Co D.B.A. Tiburon Rum, The Hampton Social, Vin Chicago, Wild Asparagus Catering and Wild Onion Brewery.

Live entertainment was provided by Jimmy Nick, and a popular highlight included the money machine, where guests stepped in to grab some flying cash, hosted by presenting sponsor Barrington Bank & Trust Co., N.A. Other top sponsors included: Brunch Café, GK Real Estate and Marquardt of Barrington Buick/GMC.

Business vendors who displayed their products and services while networking with the community included Barrington Bank & Trust Co., N.A.; Barrington Back & Body; and Marquardt of Barrington Buick/GMC.
