Reality star Doute to appear in Naperville book shop's first virtual author visit
Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, a popular site for well-known authors to visit during pre-pandemic times, is jumping into the world of virtual events with its first online author experience scheduled for June 3.
Reality star Kristen Doute of Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules" is set to connect virtually with fans via Zoom during the 7 p.m. event to promote her new book, "He's Making You Crazy." Doute co-wrote the book with author Michele Alexander, who also wrote "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," which became the material for the 2003 movie of the same name starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.
The event is open to ticketholders only, with tickets and a copy of the book on sale for $26.99 at https://www.andersonsbookshop.com/event/kristen-doute-and-michele-alexander.
Purchasers will receive a confirmation email with a link and instructions to attend the virtual event. Organizers say there will be a chance for audience Q&A in the virtual chat room and a "selfie moment with Doute as well." Doute will autograph all copies of "He's Making You Crazy" purchased in conjunction with the event before they are sent to customers.
Anderson's typically hosts more than 400 in-person author events each year and "is now steering into the virtual world as a result of health precautions during this time," the store said in a news release. The store looks forward to resuming live events when it is safe but is using virtual means to continue to share new authors and new releases in the meantime.
Doute's virtual visit will be the second time Anderson's has hosted a personality from "Vanderpump Rules." In April 2019, Stassi Schroeder visited during a sold-out event to celebrate her book, "Next Level Basic."
