Started in 1967 and now into the second generation of family management, Bear Family McDonald's Restaurants is a 25 location fast food franchise that had not upgraded its offices in 20 years.

Workers were crunched into a small space with high wall fabric panel cubicles and private offices outfitted with large solid wood desks. The family was now ready to double their space into an adjoining area and create a fresh new open experience for staff. The owner was familiar with Rieke Office Interiors through community nonprofit involvement. He reached out to Alan Kirk and Rieke's vertical interior design department to handle the design, construction management and office furniture installation. A budget was set and it was decided that all of the old furniture would be removed so a consistent pleasant new environment could be created.

The construction process took two months and the furniture installation took two weeks over a two phase project. ROI specified everything from the flooring, wall colors, lighting, washroom fixtures, entry way and office furnishings. ROI installed all the flooring then manufactured and installed the furniture.

The clients and their staff love the new space. It is very colorful, open and task oriented. There are several notable elements including a clear glass meeting room with bright soft furniture. One side of the space has two treadmill desks outfitted with smartphone blue took enable applications so staff can track and monitor their workout routines.

A bean shaped standing height table is nearby for casual meetings. In another area there is high back soft seating set away from the workstations where staff can relax or have a meeting. The workstations are elegant yet functional.

Since ROI is a custom builder not one of the private offices are the same. Each was made to suit the users needs including having sit/stand functions and varying types of storage. Upstairs in a large training room featuring bright green chairs and unique tables and storage cabinets. The new space has turned out to be a show piece for not only the client but for Rieke Office Interiors.
