What needs to be done structurally to make the legislature more effective? Will you vote for your current legislative leader? What is your position on term limits in general and specifically for legislative leaders? Do you support the ongoing drive for a constitutional amendment on redistricting? What will you do to promote implementation of any changes you recommend?
I support term limits at every level: local, county, state and federal.
I would support one law that will allow for changes to redistricting at all levels: local, county, state and federal
Would you vote for an increase in state income taxes or sales taxes? Would you vote for new taxes, such as on services? What is your position on a graduated income tax?
I support graduated income tax but more discussion is needed in regard to tax levels and how and when increases can be implemented.
I would prefer not to vote on a tax increase until we have addressed inefficiencies at the state level
What changes, if any, do you support in education and education funding in Illinois? Please be specific.
I support a more equitable funding formula that takes into consideration high poverty/high minority districts
On Illinois' budget, specifically, where do you believe cuts need to be made?
At the department level -- we are too top heavy
consolidate comptroller and treasurer office, eliminate lieutenant governor position, eliminate all paid commission and board pay
get rid of non essentials such as company cars and airplanes
What approach do you support toward fixing the public pension systems?
We got into this situation by not making our required contributions, this cannot continue. Payments need to be made and more discussion is needed on how to sufficiently fund and where do we cut off any new annuitants. T
What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?
Providing sufficient services to our women, children, seniors, veterans and disabled populations.

Mom is always right
If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?
I would have had more children
What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?
Math. I wouldn't have survived Masters level economics without it.
If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Life is too short to be unhappy, live outloud
