Residents of a three-story, 12-unit apartment building in Lake Villa that caught fire Friday were not allowed to return home Saturday due to smoke, fire and water damage, officials said.
According to ABC 7, fire started around 3 p.m. in an apartment on the third floor of the building on the 0-100 block of Cedar Avenue in Lake Villa. The fire left the building unlivable.
On Saturday, a patio entry on the third floor was boarded up, and there was a padlock on the front door.
