The Grandwood Park District's Summerfest went retro on Saturday.
The two-day event returned to Lake Park, where festival organizers reintroduced family games and pub-sized tables near the food and drink area, all designed to restore the flavor of a neighborhood event.
The festivities started at 7 a.m. with the park district's 5K Walk/Run, with all proceeds benefiting the USO of Illinois. The day also included a fishing derby at Lake Park and the annual bike parade at Adam's Park.
Activities also included retro games, a giant slide, a petting zoo and a Baggo tournament.
Musical entertainment was provided by the country band Tombeau Road.
