Key Issue 1
I want to make sure that our residents receive the best possible service we can provide.
Key Issue 2
I want to make sure that we conduct business in a financially sound way.
Key Issue 3
I want to make sure that our firefighters are well equipped and trained so that they are able to safely do their jobs.
Name the three most important goals or objectives this board should tackle in the coming term. Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.
One the hardest jobs the board will have is to provide the services needed for our residents with a drastic reduction in our income. We need to find ways to do more with less.
How should the fire protection district improve its services?
We need to look to expand our cooperation with neighboring fire departments that are mutually beneficial.
Are you satisfied with the district's response times? If yes, please explain; if no, please offer your suggestions on how to improve.
I am satisfied with the district's response times. Since the area we cover is relatively small, we are able to reach the residents in a very timely manner.
What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve on the fire district board?
I have lived and worked in the district for almost 30 years. Since 2002 I have enjoyed working with the North Maine Fire Protection District as one of their Fire Commissioners. Prior to my appointment as trustee, I have taken many training classes to prepare for the role of trustee. My math background will be very helpful when it comes to working with budgets and levies. I will be bringing unique knowledge, valuable experience and expertise to the North Maine Fire Protection District in the role of trustee.
