Educate the residents within the District of hazards that exist within their homes. Also to train residents on CPR and other first aid issues that effect family members on a daily basis.

Name the three most important goals or objectives this board should tackle in the coming term. Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.
(1) Reevaluation of the Fire Protection Districts needs. Geographic of the District are constantly changing, we must be cognize of these changes and take appropriate measures to combat these changes. (2) Maintain a fleet of vehicles that are response ready. One of the largest expenses in a Fire Protection District is its fleet of vehicles. Maintaining the fleet in a ready response condition requires constant evaluation of equipment, maintenance and appearance. These vehicles must be fleet ready at all times. As a board we must be ready to evaluate these vehicles and take appropriate measures to keep our fleet in a ready response condition. (3) Keep members of the Fire Protection well trained and physically fit to perform duties necessary of the services that they provide. Emergency medical personnel/firefighters provide a number of services to Residents. They must be and we as board members have an obligation to the residents of the District to provide the best trained most well equipped personnel available. This entails programs to be in place for the enrichment of activities that promote well trained and physically fit firefighters.
How should the fire protection district improve its services?
By constantly monitoring response times and what can we do to lower these response times.

One way that we can improve response times is by relocation of our present fire stations. Currently we have three stations, central (headquarters), west (station 3 on Gary) and north (station 2 on Keeney and Lake). Our goal is a 6 minute response time to anywhere within the District. By relocating or merging stations we may be able to improve response times. However a very costly situation that must be evaluated.
What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve on the fire district board?
32 years of service in the Fire Protection District and 20 years as Assistant Chief of operations. I do not believe that anyone else could match experience or dedication to the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District or the residents of.
