Aug 11, 2022 10:47 AM - CHICAGO (AP) - Grain futures were mixed Thursday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for Sep. rose 14.50 cents at $8.1475 a bushel; Sep. corn was up 1.25 cents at $6.2825 a bushel; Sep. oats lost 10 cents at $4.35 a bushel; while Sep. soybeans advanced 3.25 cents at 17.2525 a bushel. Beef and pork were higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right. Auditions will be held August 22-23 from 4-6:30pm at the Northbrook Theatre inside the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave. Pre-registration is required at nbparks.org.
