Elk Grove and Prospect played an entertaining 100 minutes of soccer Tuesday night in Mount Prospect at George Gattas Memorial Stadium, ending in a 0-0 draw thanks in part to some terrific play between the sticks from both keepers.

Boys soccer: Martinez hat trick sparks Round Lake past AntiochSep 28, 2021 10:09 PM - Round Lake has a boys soccer team that shows a lot of chemistry on the field and the Panthers can back it up with tradition. They have been a consistent leader in the Northern Lake County Conference and are after the top spot once again. Oscar Martinez scored a hat trick and Rafael Millan had the other goal, as Round Lake got past visiting Antioch 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Girls volleyball: St. Viator scores statement win over MaristSep 28, 2021 9:52 PM - St. Viator had a tall task going into Tuesday's East Suburban Catholic Conference match against state power Marist, ranked No. 5 in the Class 4A MaxPreps state poll. But the host Lions came out roaring, taking an 8-0 lead, and never trailed in either set of a 25-13, 25-19 triumph over the Class 4A 2018 and 2019 IHSA state champion which left the Cahill Gymnasium with a 14-5 record and their first loss in the ESCC (3-1).
