Hanover Township Job Fair set for March 29
Hanover Township, Representative Fred Crespo, and Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison are co-sponsoring the 12th Annual Community Job Fair on Wednesday, March 29. The job fair is open exclusively to veterans from 11to 11:30 a.m., and open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett. Job seekers are asked to bring copies of their resumes to the event.
"Last year's first in-person event since the pandemic was a rousing success for employers and those seeking a new position," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. "Our Job Fair is a great opportunity for those 18 and over to apply for a variety of positions and in most cases, be interviewed on the spot."
Over 70 employers will be onsite in the fields of healthcare, manufacturing, sales, administrative, transportation and more.
"One of the best ways to stimulate our economy is to help people who are unemployed or underemployed find appropriate employment," said State Representative Fred Crespo. "This job fair has been a great way to connect candidates and companies in a meaningful and hopefully fruitful way."
According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the unemployment rate for Cook County is 4.6%.
"I know there are companies in the area who have excellent opportunities for training and employment and Hanover Township's dynamic, skilled and diverse workforce are the perfect fit. Being able to put these two groups together in the same room will be greatly beneficial to our district's small businesses and the local economy," said Commissioner Morrison. "I'm proud to co-sponsor this event and I have no doubt that we'll see a lot of connections being made."
Staff from the North Suburban Cook County American Job Center will also offer a workshop at noon for event attendees on how to access free employment-seeking resources. Registration is not required.
