DuPage Care Center Foundation's Benefactor's Ball was in the planning stages in 2019 with the event scheduled for March 28, 2020. And then the pandemic hit and plans were put on hold.
The event was rescheduled not once, but twice and finally held on Nov. 20, 2021.
John and Mary Kay Rybarski, who have a loved one at the Care Center, put heart and soul into each detail, from the auction to the entertainment to the table decorations.
The event was conceived, planned, and executed by the Rybarskis for the benefit of the DuPage Care Center Foundation.
The foundation's mission is to raise funds to enhance and expand the quality-of-life programs, services and personal hygiene items for the residents, many of whom call the Care Center home. Also providing much needed programs, services, technology and facility improvements that make a more homelike environment.
The event was attended by family and friends of the Care Center. The highlight of the evening was a "reverse auction" that raised $8,300 for the purchase of much desired sensory equipment.
More than $51,000 was raised from the many attendees that included county board members, family, friend supporters and the staff of the Care Center, along with past and present foundation board members.
The Care Center Foundation is grateful to John and Mary Kay Rybarski for their passion, hard work and ongoing support for the Care Center.
