At noon Tuesday, March 31, WFMT's weekday program "Music in Chicago" will feature the St. Charles Singers and Elgin Symphony Orchestra performing work by Aaron Copland.

In 2008, the St. Charles Singers and Elgin Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Robert Hanson, collaborated on an all-Copland album. They recorded his two sets of Old American Songs, originally for voice and piano, but heard here transcribed for chorus and orchestra.

This May 27, 2008 performance features pianist Benjamin Pasternack.

This "American Classics" recording on the Naxos label begins with the ESO performing "The Tender Land: Orchestral Suite" by Aaron Copland, followed by Pasternack on Copland's Concerto for Piano.

The St. Charles Singers then join the ESO for "Old American Songs, Set 1-2" by Aaron Copland.
