Willow South Lake Church Encourages Community Service
Like most area churches, Willow South Lake, Lincolnshire, is holding virtual services these days. Since they can't do community together for the time being, Church leaders have organized several minimal contact community service projects. You can do some of these from the comfort of your own Amazon account or while you are out shopping for your own groceries. These include making donations to the Vernon Township Food Pantry; a blood drive; providing Easter baskets and toiletries to families who have been displaced by domestic violence through our local partner, A Safe Place. Everyone is invited to participate in serving our community with us.
Restocking our Local Food Pantry
The Vernon Township Food Pantry has requested the following items:
• Ready meals with protein, tuna, spaghetti and meatballs, soups, etc.
• Personal care products: shampoo, conditioner, soap, and feminine hygiene products.
• Cleaning products: soft scrub with bleach, Lysol cleaner and dish soap.
You may drop the items off in the church entrance vestibule this Friday through Monday (3/27-3/30) anytime between 9 AM and 9 PM.
Willow South Lake has scheduled a blood drive for Friday, April 3rd, from 7:30 AM to 1 PM.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, our local hospitals are in dire need of blood donations. Please help out local medical professionals and all of our neighbors by scheduling your donation today. The church will take every precaution to ensure a safe and healthy environment. To register, go to donate.illinois.versiti.org.
According to Interim Lead Pastor Gina Cherian, "…especially in a time of worry and fear, one of the best things we can do is focus outward on serving and helping others."
More information on the Easter basket and the Family Shelter effort may be found on the groups website.
The Church, located at 625 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire, is one of the regional campuses of Willow Creek Community Church of South Barrington. Willow South Lake Church offers virtual services weekly at 9 AM and 11 AM.
