Fox Meadow Elementary School in South Elgin invites students, families, and school staff to a "Poetry Park Live" event at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Black Hawk Park, 1479 Blackhawk Circle in South Elgin.

The "book-nic" will include poetry readings, treats from local sponsors, giveaways, and summer reading prizes -- including free books -- for students who bring their reading logs.

The school also will be collecting book donations for its annual book swap in the fall.

All elementary students are encouraged to continue reading for the districtwide Summer Reading Challenge.
