Community Crisis Center Gala set for March 10
The Community Crisis Center will present the 31st annual Spring Gala & Auction at The Q Center in St. Charles on Saturday, March 10. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with hundreds of items featured on the silent auction, followed by a brief program and dinner.
The program includes a featured vocal performance by CHAR, a singer and songwriter who recently released "Suitcase & a Dream," an EP about her journey to find a place to call home.
Auctioneer Terry Dunning will conduct the live auction which includes a South African safari, Elton John concert tickets, autographed items by Keith Urban and sports celebrities, including the Chicago Blackhawks; a kayak; children's items; and many one-of-a-kind items and services.
The Seigle Family Foundation and the Cucci Family Foundation are the Gold Sponsors for the event.
K.R. Miller Contractors and the EFS Foundation are Silver Sponsors. Currently, donations of items, services, and sponsorships are being sought and will be accepted through February.
The auction is the major fundraiser for the Crisis Center which, for 43 years, has been meeting the needs of individuals and families experiencing crises related to domestic violence, sexual assault, economic need and homelessness. Services are available 24 hours a day at no cost to victims. In addition, the center houses 40 women and their children each night.
Those interested in donating to or attending the event may contact the center. Reservations at $100 per person are required; seating is limited. First-time attendees receive a $20 discount and may attend for $80 a person.
Raffle tickets for cash prizes ($2,018 first prize and $500 second prize) are now being sold by staff and volunteers and will be sold at the event; winners need not be present.
