The Bears have added former NFL wide receiver and safety Mike Furrey as their wide receivers coach.
Furrey was the head coach at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina for the past two years. The previous three years, he was Marshall's wide receivers coach.
Furrey spent seven years in the NFL, as a rare two-way player. He intercepted 4 passes in 2005 with the St. Louis Rams, then switched to wide receiver the next season with the Detroit Lions and caught 98 passes for 1,086 yards (11.1-yard average) and 6 touchdowns.
He had career totals of 221 catches, 2,298 yards (10.4-yard average) and 7 touchdowns.
Furrey played with Bears head coach Matt Nagy in 2002 with the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League.
