Northbrook police reports: Utility trailer stolen from 900 block of Dundee Road

The following were reported by the Northbrook Police Department, however, it may not include all incidents. Any charges are only accusations, not findings of guilt.

Oct. 1

 

STOLEN AUTO: 900 Block Dundee Road. A utility trailer was stolen by unknown subject(s).

Oct. 2

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: 1100 Block Whitfield Road. A resident reported seeing someone stealing the catalytic converter from their neighbor's vehicle. Complainant stated that one subject was under the vehicle with a tool while a second subject was inside a waiting vehicle. The subject who was under the vehicle grabbed their tools and ran to the waiting vehicle that then left the area.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Sheraton Chicago Northbrook Hotel, 1100 Willow Road. Complainant purchased a piece of art through an auction held at the hotel and believed that the seller misrepresented the authenticity of the item at the time of the sale. Complainant was advised to consult a professional to verify or deny their suspicions.

Oct. 3

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: Willow and Greenview roads. Someone rode a bicycle through wet concrete several times.

Oct. 4

RETAIL THEFT: T-Mobile, 141 Skokie Blvd. Two men stole 10 to 12 cellphones then drove away.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: 1000 Block Midway. A catalytic converter was removed from a resident's vehicle.

THEFT: North Suburban Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, 1240 Meadow Road. A former employee had several items belonging to the business and hadn't returned them. An officer contacted the former employee, who agree to return the items the following day.

Oct. 5

RETAIL THEFT: Louis Vuitton, Northbrook Court, 1515 Lake-Cook Road. Six to eight men grabbed several purses, then left in vehicles waiting outside. The bags were worth a total of $66,000.

THEFT OF LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY: Northbrook Dog Park, 2490 Dundee Road. A person visited the police station to report they'd lost their wallet at the dog park.

BURGLARY: Eataco, 1350 Shermer Road. Tools were taken from the location without permission; complainant believes that a known subject may have been responsible. Investigation pending.

Oct. 6

DISPUTE: Greenview Park, 2405 Greenview Road. Complainant reported that while they were walking their dog and pushing a stroller on the sidewalk, a subject was doing yard work. Complainant stated that due to there being tools in the way of the sidewalk, they had to partially walk on this subject's lawn. A brief verbal exchange between the complainant and the subject ensued.

THEFT: Mark Vend Co., 3000 MacArthur Blvd. Complainant reported that a check payment that had been issued to an account holder had been altered and deposited into an unknown subject's name.

Oct. 7

DISTURBANCE: Leonidas Cafe, 1348 Shermer Road. Complainant reported that a subject started a disturbance when a solicitor came into the business to sell masks to the owner. Complainant asked the subject to leave the cafe, and the subject refused. Subject left after being advised by officers that they were no longer welcome at the cafe.
