Carpentersville

• A 17-year-old Carpentersville boy was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, police said. The teen was taken into custody during a traffic stop Saturday night near Cherokee and Papoose roads, where officers said they found a 9 mm handgun and suspected illegal drugs inside the vehicle he was driving.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
 

Kane County

• Miguel A. Juarez, 28, of the 200 block of Trask Street, Aurora, was charged with aggravated DUI, no valid driver's license, no insurance, and transportation of open alcohol and was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of under 10 grams of marijuana after a traffic stop at 12:45 p.m. on Trask Street, north of Benton Street, near Aurora, according to a sheriff's report.
