The Hawthorn Elementary District 73 school board is expected to name a new superintendent during its meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, at the district office, 841 West End Court, Vernon Hills.

More than 40 people applied for the position left vacant when former Superintendent Nick Brown left for a job in Indiana. Last June, two interim superintendents were hired to guide the district through the current school year while a permanent replacement was sought.
