So you thought the time for fireworks slipped past with the Fourth of July?
Not hardly. Not in Glendale Heights, where the village's five-day festival to celebrate its incorporation on July 13, 1959, started Wednesday night with a fireworks show and will wind up Sunday evening with an even bigger show that's sure to light up the sky.
Admission to Glendale Heights Fest is free at Camera Park, 101 E. Fullerton Ave. Participants can jump on carnival rides -- or even a mechanical bull -- enjoy all sorts of food, dance to a bunch of different bands and generally make it clear that there's still a lot of summer left to celebrate.
