During a North West Territory Alliance Revolutionary War Re-enactment at Cantigny park in Wheaton, I was able to catch this Cannon being ignited by Jason Borowick of Wheaton. This soldier's unit is the "Continental Marines", they are the ancestors to today's Marine Corps. I superimposed another photo I had taken of an American flag, as a reminder to us during this Independence Holiday week, of what they were fighting for.

While visiting historic sights in the south a couple of years ago my wife and I stopped at the national cemetery at Vicksburg, Mississippi. The cemetery is set between the Vicksburg Military Park and the Yazoo river. It's a peaceful place where many men and women who served and in many cases died eternally rest after having helped keep our country free.
