Indian Trails library branch celebrating its 10th anniversary

You're invited to a 10th anniversary celebration for the Wheeling-based Indian Trails Public Library District's branch in Prospect Heights.
The party is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the branch library, 99 E. Palatine Road.
Pizza, cake and refreshments will be offered. Craft projects are planned, too.
Indian Trails officials created the district's first branch after the bookmobile broke down, officials recalled in a news release. Indian Trails leaders decided to retire the vehicle and open a branch for people on the east side of the district instead.
The main Indian Trails library is at 355 Schoenbeck Road, near the west side of town.
The branch library opened in May 2010 at 650B N. Milwaukee Ave. Public demand for library services at the branch was high, and in August 2012 a new, larger branch opened at the current site.
Today, the branch offers traditional materials as well as craft programs, English tutoring and more.
The anniversary event is open to the public and registration isn't required.
Aside from the anniversary party, you can visit the branch from 1 to 8 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. It's closed Sundays.
