Thanks, voters, for the next four years
As I took the oath of office for McHenry County Board Dec. 5, I felt a great sense of gratitude for the dedicated and loyal friends who helped make this possible. Without your support, I could not have succeeded.
You gave more of yourselves during the campaign than I could have ever hoped for. To paraphrase from Margaret Mead, we proved once again that "a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." McHenry County is a far better place because of you, my friends.
I am also grateful for being able to meet so many voters as I walked the neighborhoods of the Fifth District during the campaign. I've always believed that knocking on doors and listening to the concerns of the people is the only way to really understand what the issues are. If you took a few minutes out of your day to talk with me, thank you for that gift. I can never repay your generosity, but I promise to work very hard to represent you and fight for you. I listened, and I heard what you had to say.
None of us know what the next four years will bring, but you can be sure that I will do my best for you. Thank you for the chance to once again be your public servant.
