The 6-foot-6 Wildcat, near the top of the key, then whipped a pass to his older brother, 6-8 senior forward Chase Bonder, who nailed a 3-pointer 3 seconds later to put the visitors up 51-49. "That was a game-saver, Cole's offensive rebound," Chase Bonder said after Libertyville's pulsating 51-50 victory in Lincolnshire.

Hutchinson's clutch 3-pointer puts Wheeling past Elk GroveJan 14, 2022 10:57 PM - Wheeling's Elijah Hutchinson broke the hearts of Elk Grove's boys basketball team and fans Friday night. The visiting Grenadiers, looking to break a long losing streak in the Mid-Suburban East, led 56-55 with just seconds remaining on the Wildcats' home court. Then Hutchinson delivered a dagger. The 6-foot-3 senior measured a long 3-pointer from just to the left of the top of the key with 10 ticks left in the game, and sank the clutch shot to give Wheeling the lead. Elk Grove rushed the ball downc ourt, then after a timeout, a contested Grens 3-point shot for the win fell short as Wheeling won 58-56.

Then a Fremd sophomore, Sammons hit a game-winning 3-pointer to beat Prospect. A 19-point performance by Sammons helped lift Fremd to a 46-41 Mid-Suburban West boys basketball win over Schaumburg in Palatine Friday night. Sammons would hit 5 of 8 3-point attempts.
