Girls gymnastics: Hamann settling in at WarrenDec 9, 2021 1:02 PM - Amanda Hamann has landed in a good spot with the Warren Blue Devils'girls gymnastics team. The junior transferred from Carmel Catholic to Warren this year and has become more than a leader with her efforts and ability early in the season. Hamann had a career-best in a North Suburban Conference meet held at Mundelein High School on Wednesday night. She won the all-around with a 37.4. She placed in the top spots on the vault (9.6) and the floor exercise (9.5), second on the balance beam (9.2), and third on bars (9.1).

Willowbrook's roll continues against Maine WestDec 8, 2021 10:37 PM - Led by 5-foot-8 senior guard senior Sophie Sullivan (14 points), sophomore Calli Kenny, junior Sara Stout, sophomore Elle Bruschuk and freshman Hannah Kenny, Willowbrook (9-0) got past Maine West 53-32 for its eighth double-digit girls basketball win of the season and fourth by 20 or more.

WW South still unbeaten after win over GenevaDec 8, 2021 10:28 PM - Wheaton Warrenville South is unbeaten for a few reasons, but the biggest one is the Tigers' ferocious defense. In Wednesday night's DuKane Conference boys basketball matchup against visiting Geneva, the 7-0 Tigers held Geneva to 14 first-half points and then topped that effort by blanking the visitors in the third quarter on their way to a 46-30 victory, their second in as many conference tries this year.

The Raiders scored the first 13 points of the second half on their way to a 56-35 Fox Valley Conference boys basketball victory Wednesday night at C-G's Elroy Fitzgerald Gymnasium.

Sycamore rolls past Kaneland

By the time the half was up, the Spartans had their first double-digit lead of the game and never looked back in a 57-40 Interstate 8 Conference girls basketball win over the Knights Wednesday night.
